Fostering quality relationships

Opinions and the way people see us is something we often have little or no control over, therefore the key to relationships is to look deeply at yourself, the way you interact and who you show up as.  It is a fact of life that not everyone will like you or want to be connected to you while it’s important to leave the ones who aren’t willing to connect to connect where they are meant to – and focus on fostering quality relationships with those who are in your circle, destiny and meant to be in your life.

Wanting to be liked by everyone can be the most debilitating thing on the planet as it’s rife with disappointment often but wanting to be the best version of you for others, can cause relationships to thrive.  None of us live under a rock or on a secluded mountain top so it’s a given that you will interact with people.  It’s a gift to be able to serve and make a difference in the lives of those who are willing to be included in your life while understanding that you must have boundaries so you can give more to those who are worthy of your giving and in need.

Forgiveness is a crucial aspect of relating. It doesn’t matter what type of relationship you are involved in; nobody is perfect.  Having an idealistic view of people isn’t fair.  It is unrealistic to think that people will be perfect all of the time so as long as it’s not a deal breaker, it’s important to learn to forgive, forget and let go of mistakes.  We live in a world where there are pressures and people may struggle to live up to external expectations so learn to live up to your own realistic expectations, cherish and value all relationships in your sphere.

Forgive those who hurt you, things that may not have seemed right or situations where you or they may have done something that is not in alignment with values but is simply human beings having a human experience who just want to be loved for who they are.  Also forgive yourself for any misgivings and forge quality relationships from a place of peace, understanding, compassion and empathy.
